I am going to buying a new air pump with two outlets that is rated for 40 gallons. Does this mean that one of the outlets is rated for a 20 gallon tank or does that mean each outlet is rated for 40 gallons for a maximum of 80 gallons? It is a MA-400 via aqua air pump.

Not sure but I suspect that it should be 20 gallons per outlet.
