Nice aro. I wish the tail was little bigger and more wide. Dare to try to keep Super red
I wish we could have the red. They are against the law here.
-steve
hi, why is it against the law? as in all aros or just reds?
Other arowana are OK. Only the red is banned. It is a federal law that started when the wild red aro became endangered species and was listed by CITES. We argue that they are now grown on farms and can be supplied with microchip and certificate of origin but they will not change the law. The penalty can be thousands of dollars and even jail.

Too bad steve. They should change the law cause now reds have been masively produced in Indonesian farms, mostly in borneo and sumatra although in some places near Jakarta, the capital city, some breeders have succeed in breeding this fish
It isn't just reds. All asian arowana varieties are banned here. Though we are allowed to keep african bonytoung, silver (amazon), and australian (jardini) arowannas, all asian arowanas are banned. They are legal in Canada though, and if you thought the prices for nice aros were extravagant in Asia, you should see what they charge for the ones they smuggle in to the U.S.
