Oh.. Thanks for explaining. I understand liao... I know about the handicap rules. But when people say jiak kew I have no idea they mean playing the handicap game.
There's also exists another type of handicap called the "asian handicap". Bascially it mean you split your bet to half-half. Odd will be given like this: Angola (1/1.5) @2.025 Portugal (-1/1.5) @1.825 Examples. Supposed you are given the Asian Handicap odds as: England (-0.5/1) @1.900 Paraguay (0.5/1) @1.950 You buy $100 England: If Eng wins by 2 balls and above, you get back $190 If Eng wins by 1 ball, you take back half, and the other you multuiply by 1.90. Meaning you take back $145 (50 + 50x1.9). If Eng draws or loses, you lose all. You buy $100 Paraguay: If Paraguay draws or wins, you take back $195. If Paraguay lose by 1 goal, you lose half and take back half, ie $50. If Paraguay loses 2 goals and above, you lose all. Another one.... Supposed you are given the Asian Handicap odds as: Angola (1/1.5) @2.025 Portugal (-1/1.5) @1.825 You buy $100 Angola: If Angola draws or wins, you take back $202.50 If Angola lose by 1 goal, you take back half, and multiply the other half by 2.025. Meaning you take back $151.25 (50 + 50x2.025). If Angola loses 2 goals and above, you lose all. You buy $100 Portugal: If Portugal wins by 2 balls and above, you get back $182.50 If Portugal wins by 1 ball, you lose half and take back half, ie $50. If Portugal draws or loses, you lose all. |

All 1/2 balls types of odds are called Asian Handicap. The US handicap is usually in whole number like +1, +9, +15 ... usually used in NBA, sometime in PGA.
The odds u given in the examples like 1/1.5 aka 1 1/4 and 0.5/1 aka 3/4 ... |

Some european betting sites also consider full ball handicaps like 0:1 as Asian Handicaps. Very ruan. Don't know how else to call these odds with quarters. 3/4 is better represented as 0.5/1 anyway.

Interesting ... the 1st Mascot for World Cup is a Lion, 1966 London.
Final match, England vs Germany, 1:1, 2:2 and AET 4:2 2006, after 10 cycle, the Lion is back in Berlin. |
