About your pic. There were actually four others (of similar pose) but they are a blur. Seeing you took one clear and sharp pic as seen above, it's obvious your camera has a macro function but you didn't use it for the other pics. Read up the following thread about Macro Photography.

Nothing wrong with a Thai ranchu if it is beautiful. Very nice ranchu.

It's not a floater.
Transfer fish into a very shallow tub for the pics.
Thought shallower water easier for shooting

This ranchu has an impressively wide skull, unless the position of the eyes is an illusion because they are protruding? How about a side-view pic, or a side-view close-up of its head please?
The pics are blur so I can't really comment on its tails except they look kinda small.
The scales are neat but it looks like the red colour is fading.
Overall an excellent ranchu!
PS. Get a deeper basin; prolong exposure of part of its back to air may not be good.
Will try to post side view. Do not have a tank at home?
The colour is lighter at the abdormant. Certainly not fading, infact have improve tremendously thanks to green water.

I think it is much nicer than those Kashino rejects being sold here.

Personally I only like the tail. The rest of fish cannot make it as a topview.

actually if we are to compare this ranchu with some of Geert's line, we will see the difference between Thai and non-thai (meaning Jap and Belgium) fish.

Please elaborate on that, so that I can highlight the points b4 I choose another ranchu.
Thanks!

Like I said, compare this thai fish with any fish from Geert. scrutinize every single feature. what are the differences? With my untrained eye, I can see that the head and body are very very different. I like Geert's fish, but I don't appreciate this thai topview (except for the tail which i find ok)
There are some experts lurking around here. They will be able to help you better. I am still only beginning to learn about topviews.
