hello..... nice forum and sticky threads for my new goldfish....

after reading CP newbie guild, i feel that I really have a lot to learn...

Now beside me is a 2 feet empty fish tank with a Dolphin H300.... I thought I can just go to fish shop and buy some gold fish and start feeding them... I was wrong, very wrong...

There are so much to learn.... I guess the water in the tank will have no fishes for some time before I can confidently buy some gold fishes and put them inside.......

i luv goldfish. biggrin.gif

Welcome to RG . hi.gif

2 ft tank is small, keep only 2 or 3 . But instead of letting it empty, can start with one or 2 small ones with little feeding to kickstart the filter.

Enjoy.

Ooo... 2 to 3 gold fishes.... i went to my local fish shop and saw they have size like 4-5cm (including tail) and keep in a 2 feet fish tank...

their tanks have 15-20 gold fishes.... the uncle a bit unfriendly however did help me with the right stuff i asked. He didn't push me to buy a lot of things esp I am new. He did recommend fake grass but in the end, he said keep it as clean as possible, the fishes will be very happy. And for starters, he ask me not to buy any grass or sand.

End up, i buy a white net 5" width ($1.40) and a bottle of Anti-Chlorine by Hong Tai Aquarium ($2.50), total $3.90.

He tell me to put 2 teaspoon of Anti-Chlorine, tml then go back and buy goldfish. He didn't sell Dolphin products, so my filter are still the ex-owner's filter.

Anyone can share with me where to get Dolphin H300 filters ? As mine is not cleaning the tank very well, instead spitting out white filters and it goes in and out again.

Or did I insert the filters wrongly ? Here is a example of my setup on the Dolphin H300

Tank => Water sucks in => a black solid filter panel (something like a lot of W W W W that hold back the dirts) => White filter (hairy already) inside have black charcoal bits, unable to repair, it's factory sealed => back into tank.

I hope my example if clear enough... smile.gif
