Many weddings are going on even as you read this Now I know that the idea of it is definitely shocking, but those things do happen in this world so we have to consider this a fact. There are many bros out here who are still singles as well as many married ones who may not unfortunately marry someone who fancy goldfish . Seriously would you find a spouse who would be a goldfish lover and share your passion before you tie your knots? Would you only look at goldfish women for a prospective wife or a second one for that matter!

So how would I go about picking this goldfish woman? Since I have only been married once, I don't have a lot of experience to call on, but here is what I would do. First I would request a profile or a resume of this potential candidate on her experience on goldfish keeping

In the Classified Ads I would write

"Lonely male seeking woman for serious goldfish relationship. Must have at least two years of goldfish experience and be able to clean tanks ,ponds and filters, able to treat sick fish, , lift at least 25 kgs of weights and chase intruders away. Age, race, religion, and beauty are not important, but well- built(tua chiak ones) women will receive higher consideration. Now that ought to get a few good responses.

Now why would I want to only marry a goldfish woman? Well, non goldfish lovers just don't understand why another tanks or another fish is really necessary. They also complain about the costs of things, such as spending $1000 on a new tank, $100 on a good quality pump , or $200 on a prize goldfish. Now how can you honestly put a value on such an important thing as goldfish keeping?

Now I know some of you are between marriages, or at least thinking about it, or maybe like me, just speculating, so what do you think, should you marry a goldfish lover? tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

Cheers

I think we should move this to chit chat.

On that thought, I picked up this hobby less than 2 years and married for 9 years. My wife didn't have a choice, but of course we discuss about my hobby. However, my wife have realised at one time after a big fight, by removing my hobby of fish keeping is not going to make a marked difference in other areas.

And of course when my heart focus less on goldfish that she can keep an eye on, can branch out to something more damaging.

So my conclusion is communicate your intend and strike an agreement it is not going to be easy, so is keeping your goldfish in tip top conditions.

Wah Goldrush,

You mean must consider whether potential wife is goldfish lover before tying the knot ah?!!Too serious liao.

You just have to understand women.Highly unlikely that we share common interests. They do not understand why we are unwilling to spend $10 on a kim bak lor (sea bass) for dinner but willingly pay $200 for a two inch ranchu.Neither do we understand why they need to have a dozen unpractical high heel shoes in the cabinet gathering dust and then fret that she does not have a suitable shoe to match a particular dress.

Come home first thing look at fish boay song.
Peel peas for fish also boay song.
Last night skip dinner cos need to rush to LFS buy medication before the shop close also boay song.

But my advise to those yet to tie knot is,chances are, whether you are interested in fish,dogs,birds,soccer,golf,hi-fi or any other men dominated hobbies, they will always have some "boay song" feeling if too much attention is focused on your hobby. Its the nature of this thing we call women. So if your other half not goldfish lover, never mind.Go ahead and get married. It does not make a difference.

HAHAHAHA good_very.gif

As I am from another camp, I shall add my 2 cents.

I would rather have my significant other has hobbies like computer games, goldfishes (or other fishes or aquatic plants). Reason: I rather them spending time on these than to be out there drinking, gambling, or KTVing (or more).

At least I know what he is doing rather than for me to guess what his "hobbies" are and he is not out there killing his own liver. LOL!

But most definately, you will need someone to understand that, if not, it will be hard. As one will not understand and will not try to understand - mental block.

So goodluck on the search - for those that are single and not attached. wink.gif

This one must need input from our "SIS". My wife has no problem with my goldfish hobby. During our courting days, she already knows that I live and sleep goldfish. She also follow me to goldfish farms all over Singapore. Mind you take bus and 30 minutes walk to those farms.

Thank you. Incidentally, her Chinese name is precious pearl. I have found more than a pearl. I found a precious pearl. On the heat stroke issue, just bring an umbrella. In this way I also can take cover and no need to feel shy about it. But now got car and my wife gives excuse that she has to look after the children when my children are in the Uni. After my farm trip, she is always in Orchard Road.

Lucky now got new goldfish kaki to go with me.

Hi bros & sis,

For this sensitive topic of our partners view on our hobby, I personally thinks it boils down to one simple fact, PRIORITIZING.

Just imagine, first think I do when I come home after work is saying "Hello" to my fishes. Or imagine when I reach home, I just say hi to my spouse and then next thing I do, is to attend to my fishes.

I will be mad if my wife puts higher priority into her hobby than me. Can't blame her to be mad if I do that.

Actually, I don't have a Home Minister problem. good_very.gif My wife had never questioned me about my hobbies. Or the equipments I bought. I still remember the first ranchu I bought home was quite expensive. I told her the actual price and all she said was, it was nice and cute. Phew!!!!!!! wink.gif

I think my wife appreciate me prioritizing the family more than anything else. I believe my wife enjoy seeing me playing with the kids. Sometimes to mix hobby with family, I'll make my kids do some "hobby" work for me. And I do tell them about the fishes. Let them learn a bit! Then I can tell my wife it is education! wink.gif

To be honest, I do not think my wife is a fish hobbyist herself. But I do not get any objections from her either. happydance1.gif

Regards

From an ad I saw on TV last time (about soccer)... biggrin.gif

"
What is passion?...
I want to ask... how many hobbyists actually sleeps with their goldfishes...
Your fishes die, you cry... When your fishes are filled with life, YOU ALSO CRY!

Hahaha... both are no-no...

You go touch your fish after having sex means she is less appealing than your fishes. But if you bypass her completely, you will see her packing up next day hysterical.gif
