After seeing the sideview directly (posts 9 and 10),this piece is not as great as I thot.Funny, left side of fish (post9) looks better than right (post10).The drawback is the too high hump.Nevertheless, still a very good effort!!

Gaining 2 to 3 inches in 7 months is nothing special, though.

But I remembered that Chinmo had one of the most elaborate green water setups from the 'pic of your tank' thread.Complete with interconnecting pipes everywhere, amazing dedication. beg2.gif

QUOTE(ranchu8 @ Fri, 06 May 2005 12:11 pm)
Based on what is seen, do you all think the first picture is of a Chinese Ranchu or Thai Ranchu? the second picture? or is there suppose to be any difference in the first place? i've difficulty with this, particularly as i don't keep sv Ranchu but as CPIW pointed out, this is a really interesting case ...

A classic case of nurture over nature
An inspiration for our insatiable aspiration
Physical attributes aside, the ranchu seems to metamorphosize from a much often discarded piece to an exceptional specimen under the hands of its keeper. Both hood development and colour have intensified with his  rearing skills.

Maybe we should learn a few tips from this bro of his regimen.Care to share your upbringing bro Chinmo.Thx cpiw for the reference

Keep drawing the inspirations.....for your own self bred.

See if yours can have the same outcome 7 months later from the time they are 2 inche fishes.

Some glimmer of hope.............

Er....very hard for me to explain. It just looks Thai.

For eg,if you show me a kid from Thailand and another kid from China and if I can pick out the Thai kid,how do you explain that?

But I can only guess SVs only hor, not TVs. smile.gif

QUOTE(The Matrix @ Fri, 06 May 2005 5:34 pm)
no wonder .... u very the free.

I guess I am going against the rest ... head growth is poor, the only thing is the cheek which is good for someone keeping in clear water tank.

U will need the frequent water change to maintain this piece and in fact, improve on the food for other features.

i think this piece has is indeed improve remarkably under the owner's care ad really turn the table against those who have adverse comments on it when while it was smaller.

no matter what its inherent fault is , we here know that it would fetch $$$ if it is being sold in LHS now.
