Well,I do not know Chinmo and have not met him,but felt somewhat impressed at this :
http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/showthre...51&page=1&pp=10

This piece is also featured in GA back in Sept 04,here:
http://www.RafflesGold.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1445

Here is one piece which has shown marked improvement in colouration and headgrowth, but for size can't really tell as the "before and after" fish size was not mentioned.

It also serves as a good case study on the accuracies and follies of the comments by "Frankie", some has predicted correctly on the headgrowth good.gif whereas some had said it was not worth more than $15. good_no.gif

I was one of the "Frankie" but will not disclose to you which post kekekekeke........

A classic case of nurture over nature
An inspiration for our insatiable aspiration
Physical attributes aside, the ranchu seems to metamorphosize from a much often discarded piece to an exceptional specimen under the hands of its keeper. Both hood development and colour have intensified with his rearing skills.
beg2.gif beg2.gif beg2.gif
Maybe we should learn a few tips from this bro of his regimen.Care to share your upbringing bro Chinmo.Thx cpiw for the reference

regards

Having viewed the pictures, I almost fell of my chair.
The headgrowth and the colouration were marvellous!
Looks like a 180 degree transformation. It's the
story of an ugly duckling that turns into a swan.
A frog into a prince. A rundown to the ranchu!

What do you feed your fish with and how often?
You did say that you feed them until they peng.
Where did you get your fish?

Bravo brother! good_very.gif

Based on what is seen, do you all think the first picture is of a Chinese Ranchu or Thai Ranchu? the second picture? or is there suppose to be any difference in the first place? i've difficulty with this, particularly as i don't keep sv Ranchu but as CPIW pointed out, this is a really interesting case ...

Yes, the headgrowth is marvellous. And colour wise, it has certainly improved a lot. I suppose that's the marvel of green water. Not sure.

It is good work, nonetheless!! good_very.gif

But high hump is still high hump. The growth in length and bulk will not change such natural feature.

no wonder .... u very the free.

I guess I am going against the rest ... head growth is poor, the only thing is the cheek which is good for someone keeping in clear water tank.

U will need the frequent water change to maintain this piece and in fact, improve on the food for other features.
