True, thats because there hasn't been any boom recently instead some has already closed up their businesses. (thanks for the doubts as it also reminds us that we need to clean up this FAQ)

Oh blush.gif

Means I still can't get any answer lar cry.gif

BTW, I guess not all the LFS closing down rite? some might be move/change place etc and some no longer selling goldfish?

The reason I asking for location is that it is quite hard for new comer like me to locate LFS with goldfish, and I don't mind to move around the island to locate the right goldfish for me.

Also, I try to limit to 6 fish for the 3f tank (to some bros here, consider overloaded) is hard on me as I would like to have even more fish beg2.gif

Hi,
I think besides looking around for a good lfs, once u find it, keep a good relationship w them... n always ask them when do they usually hav new fishes come in or ask if u can always call them to chk on whn new stocks arrive... esp whn u wan to expand ur collection...

For me, I got some personal fav lfs... one was the bedok one which was cheap for supplies.. but it is closed liao... tongue.gif

another would b opp the queensway shopping ctre... they stock good n healthy fishes but more of the common types... they hav a sister shop at chinatown.. opp the smith street food ctre.. which is linked by a bridge..

Otherwise, I find the Pasir Ris farmway stretch a worthwhile visit...

Otherwise... I highly recommended Bangkok ... either Chatuchak or the fish farms... but u better know what u wan then n the price u keen to pay...

Actually for me, Im keen to know wat r the lousy n those dastardly lfs tat always try to cheat ya... w b good to hav a blacklist.... so all of us know wat r those or wat tricks do they use ... thn again, I don think the adminstrators w keen to pursue this eh??

Hi PK,

Let the last post have suggested, go visit pasir ris farmway. There can be surprises. I got 3 ranchu from a place after erikson pet farm strectch for $15 (1.5") and they have grown nicely. The lady boss there is call michelle I think. They are not the kind of price fish that geert has, but for me, I am happy with the 3 top view Thai's. Not fantastic head growth, but health and lively. Never have any problems (touch wood).

So go have alook. Do not buy from the first place you come across. The good thing is that there are a few gold fish places within 1 to 2 km. Go look around and then decide where you want to buy from. if none looks good, ask when they will have the next batch. More often than not, the price range you pay will also determine the potential of the fish. If you are starter like me, some afforadable good thai might be good enough for a start. you can then have the dream of upgrading to a Kasino or what ever latter on.

I am tempted to go visit Thailand fish farms after reading reports here, but much later.

cheers
Lum

Hi Lum,

Yes, from my reading on most forums, Pasir Ris Farmway seem to have a lot of lfs, will go there and take a look for sure. BTW, if I take bus there (no car), and walk from one shop to another, will that be difficult?
