Come on guys, show your tanks! Old or new it doesn't matter.

CP's fish are in haven, his set up is ideal.

Desireless, can you please post one with fish? Please? Or take a new pic if possible?

Marc9, I adore how clean and simple that looks! What filters are installed in there beside the sponge filter?

Ok waiting for more...

Yeah... those whom submit before please resubmit your tank pictures biggrin.gif A update will be better good.gif

I will submit once I put my fish back in my main tank. Currently it is fishless and full of white worms and water fleas. ohmy.gif

As promised...

This is my 4-ft tank now. To take the pictures, I have to clear front side of the tank. I left out one portion so you see how fast the algae grows in 1 week. The fishes like to eat the algae from the wall, so I have to corner off one part of the tank to preserve the algae.

IPB Image
The long fluffy wall algae. Notice my water is very dirty with debris floating around. This is due to me not using mechanical filter and the sponge filters are not fast enough to work on the poos. But the nitrogen cycle is still working perfectly.

desireless,
Did you measure the temp of the water? I tried having more PL lights for my tank and realized that temp went as high as > 34C... especially in the day time.
Not sure will there be any harm if temp goes too high smile.gif

It is usually 29oC. At most 30. 34 is ok too as long as the temp swing for your tank is gradual, such that it won't stress your fish. Chiller is totally unnecessary.

I don't trim the algae. I cleared the front part to allow taking photo and video. Other than that I usually leave it as it is. My tank is never scenic biggrin.gif

This is a short video to the wall algae:

Direct Link: http://www.rafflesgold.com/desireless/MOV06382.wmv

I stopped at 3 points:
1) Never trim. Notice it is very very "bushy" as it is near light source. The long fluffy algae looks like tentacles and swings with the water.
2) Never trim. Not so bushy as it always gets eaten. Can notice the algae also swings with the water flow.
3) Newly-grown for 1 week plus. Notice the new "thin fine hair" biggrin.gif

PS: Ya, I know it sounds lewd... but how else can I explain this? hysterical.gif

Hi chochiss,
My opinion is, it will depend on how the system is run and the location of the tub or tank. ;)
I'm surprise this question is ask by someone from Japan! rusure.gif Care to elaborate? hi.gif

It has been almost a year since I last showed by 50 fishes tank (post#21). Now is time to update my tank...manage to reduce the stocks to close to 40 fishes (after some have pass on and some I have culled). Most of the fishes have grown (see whether you still can recognize them smile.gif) ). The problem I am facing now is I am running out of space sweatingbullets.gif

Here are some of the closed up shots of the fishes:-

No sunlight. Just strong PL or T5 should do the job. This is green algae, not green water.
