Green Water: Yes
Country: Philippines

Good Morning,

I recently made some green water for one of my outdoor tank based on the instruction on this forum. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I just want to ask if it is ok / recomended to use Green Water for newly bought fishes as their Quaratine Tank? As per normal quarantine, medicines will be used like anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-parasites with anti-biotic food to go with itl. And will it also be ok to add Salt to Green Water as welll since this is what's basically used for quarantine..

thanks! smile.gif

I want to be able to closely observe fish in quarantine and give them large frequent water changes. Difficult to do in green water.

Hi Steve,

Assuming I dont need to observe them that much, and frequent water change is possible by having a stand-by Green Water on another tank.. Is it safe and still effective to put medications in Green Water?

Any of the parasite treatments based on formalin and malachite green (the blue stuff) will probably kill algae. Salt at 0.3% may partially kill algae. All of the fluke and lice treatments should be OK. JYP should be OK.
