WOW! shiok.gif Amazing! I love the wens on your Ranchus! Your crowned pearlscales are so cute too! How big were they when you first got them? And how long did it take the big pealscale to reach 20cm?

Thanks and if u have older pics of the same fish please do share!!

i've forgotten how big they were when i've got them, about 2.5-3inches i think for the ranchus

the crown pearl scale i think took about 2months+ to reach that size, grew about 6-8cm i think.. didn't record down

hi CyberET, do your demekins have high back like the ryukins?

they were selected for top view
so high back wasn't so much an important criteria smile.gif
but one of them has a high back

Hey, nice... I can see all the dropped scales have grown back (and into pearl scales too). Good job!

Erm... how's the dorsal fin now; it looks like it broke before but seemingly healed now?
CyberET
healed back liaoz
but if u view very very carefully in person, can see that it broke before and healed back
void
CyberET, care to share some pointers on how to choose good demekin? thanks... smile.gif

like... from top, body must be short? eyes must be big? tail must horizontal lies on the water? unsure.gif
CyberET
those u mentioned r the main points.. and of course the tail needs to look like a butterfly smile.gif

hehehe... actually those that i mentioned are just tikam tikam... (guess guess) tongue.gif how short the body must be? as short as the length of the tail?
CyberET
erm.. theres no fix ratio.. but of course a body twice the length of the tail will look longish and wierd right?
void
hmm.. next time if i buy a demekin, hopefully you can comment hor... tongue.gif
LASERGUY
Are there classification of long-tail or short-tail demekin ?
I am asking because in your collection, I can see both types.
CyberET
more based on personal preference imho.. just like thai ranchu/lionchu, chinese lionchu/ranchu
