Dear all

What ever you want to call it, these metallic variants are my latest addition to my ranchu collections. Measuring just under 2 inch, these color oddities may not be many cup of tea because of their dull look and monotonous hue. Nevertheless this is my first attempt to keep this variant so I’m not too sure how they will develop.Any bros here have kept these to adults and how will they fare in terms of growth and development.
I have selected these two based purely on their physical attributes (scalation, smooth back, double anal etc etc) .Kindly comment if you have further info on such a breed.

TV culls?

blink.gif Certainly not.Neither are these still in their juvenile attire

These will grow up with the tea color(very much like chagoi in koi terminology)

It has been 2 months now since I last show this variant..

I 'll show you one of the better fish development.

Now the colour has deepen.................Slightly Browned.
Notice the more pronounced reticulated pattern(Fukurin???? blink.gif ) ........very much like chagoi netting.

Dear goldrush,

I think it is a melanisation with more eumelanin over red or orange.
Here are 2 different pond fantails from the same spawn with more or less eumelanin:

ok, thats it, i think i have to start doing more for my fish. my ranchu hasn't grown nearly that much in 2 months. time to feed him more and do daily 15-20% water changes.
i love the colouration of your ranchu now. really makes them look more mature. how big is it now do you think?

Dear SSJChar

I'm glad you like these fish.If I'm not wrong they are about 11-12 cm now.

Here's the other fish with the longer body with a pair of pom pom to show

and a top view of the other fish....notice how roasted brown it has become.
