got update? shiok.gif
LASERGUY
See how is it now, a totally white ranchu....looses it's red spot almost completely within last 2 weeks...very strange, she is healthy and no problem at all....
Anyone have the same experience ????
Notice that black is unstable for chinese ranchu and some of us have cases of black chinese change to tia pow jin or red/orange but red disappear completely ?

square_guy
hmm... think these kind of special colour all veri unstable one. genes...

the ranchu seems to have changed a lot? or it is the angle of the photo? in green water or filtered?
LASERGUY
Yeah, she was on Hikari lionhead all along only recently added one feeding of goldfish veggies daily.
Changes are added body bulk but head strinked.
Kept in filter water.
She is one of my favourite, nice scaling for a chinese ranchu.
square_guy
do u have a proper side photo of the fish? very interesting to see the development.
LASERGUY
How about these sideview pics...

Hi tan, your observation was right, there is a little kink at that area.

When I bought it a year ago, it was only 3 inches or so and the kink was probably too small to pick up and it has grown to around 5 1/2 inches and the kink tends to become more prominent now.

That is the reason why it is not advisable to pick up young fishes with little kinks at all, because these will become more obvious when the fishes get bigger...

Yeah, the wen shrunked, trying to feature out what's wrong also.
But for the body, the fish is actually fatter and rounder at the belly area, perhaps it's the angle of the picture taken... Should let you see the actual fish....

This is a white ranchu i own for about 4 month. Some how i notice that it grow more straight then curve on the backbone. Is this cause by the food i fed?I feed 2 time with Hikari lionhead and one blood worm.

Before(first photo and after 2nd photo)

IMO, think the fish is definitely under-feed and stunted, looking at the size of the eyes and tail. Wen also shrunked completely. How is your feeding frequency, water change frequency? Big protuding eyes may be caused by excessive ammonia/nitrite/nitrate level.
Hazy
beg2.gif I fed it 3 time a day.Two time with lionhead and one with bloodworm.I house my in a 4ft tank with addition 4 goldfish.Maybe as you say,it is cause by excessive ammonia/nitrite/nitrate level. Before i get to know this forum,I had a mindset of max 25% water weekly if not there is a risk of killing your B.B.I know some bro at this forum change up to 80-90% weekly with no danger to the fish. And i did so say. This is first time after so many month i get see clear water in my tank.So laserguy, any change for this ranchu to recovery or is the up the lorry case?
Seacucumber
hazy....
probably underfeed lah....
you try increasing your quanitity of food...
btw, u using autofeeder??

just for your info, i house 5 pcs of 4-5inch goldfish in a 4ft tank.....
autofeeder outlet open 3/4.......5 feedings a day every 3 hourly....
morning before 1st autofeeder feeding, i throw in 5 cubes of bloodworms...
