I have heard that Spyrogyra, chlorella and amfora are more usually of green water algae. My question is in a green water tank how many algae-bloom types exist and how can recognize who type(s) it exists in this.
I have heard also the chlorella have very rich nutritional value -is this in effect for other algae-bloom types?
Thank you.

P.s.Sorry for my english.

You would need a microscope to determine the algae species you have. No need though, because controlling which species you have is very difficult. For that you would need a sterile room where you can grow algae to inoculate the tank with.
