See how is it now, a totally white ranchu....looses it's red spot almost completely within last 2 weeks...very strange, she is healthy and no problem at all....
Anyone have the same experience ????
Notice that black is unstable for chinese ranchu and some of us have cases of black chinese change to tia pow jin or red/orange but red disappear completely ?

Yeah, she was on Hikari lionhead all along only recently added one feeding of goldfish veggies daily.
Changes are added body bulk but head strinked.
Kept in filter water.
She is one of my favourite, nice scaling for a chinese ranchu.

Hi tan, your observation was right, there is a little kink at that area.

When I bought it a year ago, it was only 3 inches or so and the kink was probably too small to pick up and it has grown to around 5 1/2 inches and the kink tends to become more prominent now.

That is the reason why it is not advisable to pick up young fishes with little kinks at all, because these will become more obvious when the fishes get bigger...

Yeah, the wen shrunked, trying to feature out what's wrong also.
But for the body, the fish is actually fatter and rounder at the belly area, perhaps it's the angle of the picture taken... Should let you see the actual fish....
