60 tanks. Majority Tung Hoi fish.
Only 1 category and all 60 fishes of all varieties fight for 3 prizes, very attractive prizes. In fact, this is the first time a show like this is created. For beginners or not, still very encouraging to see the Malaysia counterparts are taking this hobby seriously. The Grand Champ is a Tung Hoi special Broad Tail Ryukin and 2nd should be a ranchu. Chochiss, I dun understand how you define fancy and pedigree ... is there any example ? |

Chochiss, I dun understand how you define fancy and pedigree ... is there any example ? ok. between fancy & pedigree......over here in malaysia it's pretty clear cut on the fish cos we have: a) local bred goldfishes i.e from ipoh..... b) imported goldfishes from china - oso got different types in terms of quality c) tung hoi goldfishes you must understand that over here....we can get gfs really cheap but then you'll be surprised to see the goldfish structure itself it's a turn off. my definition of pedigree means: - good body structure without any deformity - well balanced coloration - good swimming structure - good health without any physical injuries if you have seen the contestants over here.......some with teared up fins & massive blood streaks oso not disqualified......so now you get what I mean? nothing serious but just a wonderful opportunity for new goldfish lovers/hobbyists to participate, experience more, learn & have some fun keeping goldfishes. ![]() |

Pedigree, well, probably you meant by well-groomed and of good quality. Sometime cannot blame the organiser as well. If so many fishes disqualified, then no fish to show liao lah. But of course, in any competition, it is where individual showing off their fish and learn from each other and that applies to the general public. Dun just look at the value of the fish. In any show, there are always some objectives to meet. Sometime something is difficult to balance. It will depends on the determination of the organiser to keep to minimal influence. We just have to keep that in mind. |
