Not that bad I reckon. I understand that this competition are targeted more towards beginner to intermediate goldfish owners...perhaps for newbies to get a first hand feel & experience in joining competitions. thinking.gif

Nothing to expect much from especially the title of the competition is "Fancy Goldfish" not "Pedigree Goldfish" mah..........overall I would say not bad for many newbies as their fishes are pretty good in coloration & body growth structure just don't bother about the swimming condition as their are shock with the amount of people looking @ them. yes.gif

Felt good as I get to meet "Jackie from Tung Hoi" yesterday!! shiok.gif

It is not that bad as this is the first goldie comp in some 15years. But, it is always a good beginning. Gotta start sometime somewhere right. Of course, once experienced, it'll always be better. I was broken hearted to see the red streaks and ragged tails and fins. Poor fishies. Hope there will be more competitions to come with different categories. TV....SV...orandas...ryukins...etc...

QUOTE(The Matrix @ Sat, 22 Apr 2006 2:47 pm)
photography is a sensitive topic in a competition. Some can open for anyone to take, some due to sensitive restriction that only the organiser has the exclusive rights. Before bombarding the organisers for not allowing to take photo, do understand their concerns first.

Like we look at babies, they are cute when young. When looking at big fish, we look at beauty, grace and shape. It might be difficult to accept, but dun compare an old man with a young baby.
*

Agree! but just a little dissapointed for not having any "evidence" on the competition. Can only be a memory in our brain. Anyhow, true enough photography is a sensitive topic. But with proper equipment and organising, It can be certainly done. I.E....barrier shouldn't be too close to tanks with a gap of more than 3m...no flash allowed. or even maybe competition tanks should be in a secluded area/room instead of near entrance of shop with a maximum crowd allowed in the area at one time. Too many ppl walking in and out...popping their heads too close to tanks can seriously stress the poor fishes out.

Be frankly. bit disappointed with the standard of the fishes. rusure.gif
Just wonder why?? where are the top quality fishes brought in by fengshui fish gone to ah?? Or those top notch goldfish owner reluctant to show their fishes??
Maybe malaysian are more conservative or humble....or less passionate on the aspect of competition..you see..this is still new to us......after 15 years since last show...( i duunoo..u ppl claimed so). good.gif . Hey ppl out there..give us..some time... we will catch up....definitely we will...

Not to worry. Time is on your side. Maybe if it were open to prople from Thailand and Singapore, it might have made a difference.

I am sorry to read about the not-so-good response on this competition. I am sure if you feedback to the organizer, the next one would be better organized. Participants should particularly feedback to the organizers on how badly their fishes were tanked.

As for your question on Fengshui fishes, maybe it is because the biggest buyer is one of the judges, making it impossible for him to join as participant. ;) But they did compensate with 2 tunghoi jumbos biggrin.gif They've already made quite an effort to have invited the panel of star judges.

Huh? Why quote me? It's no secret mah.

Anway, Mr Kew is the owner to many premium Tunghoi goldfishes from Tunghoi imported by Fengshui. It is a pity that because he is the judge, he cannot send his fishes for competition. I guess that answers Louis' question. ;)
