hmm.....nice arch, good tail angle, decent headghrowth, not bad.

downside is that scales appear to be coarse.
fish seems to be stunted liao.
btw, how big is this fish??

whats with stunned fish nowadays? unsure.gif

how do you identify a stunned fish?
what are the signs?
are there any formular i can follow to determine a stunned fish?

Good looking fish. I wish the colour of fins was more solid (less transparent area). Is it a big female? I like the split wen colour.

Small eye to head ratio indicates this fish is not stunted! (just like discus).

jus toook up e challenge to add gravels, plants & rocks,
so far so good, fishes r healthy n active, gravels r clean as well,
shuold not be removing the gravel, at least not in a short while smile.gif

its a male... e white spots on e fins cant be seen on e photo due to poor photaking skills blush.gif

Fish scale very coarse. Looks like the previous owner did not do a good job in maintaining the fish. Do watch for any deteriorating on the scale also. Don't let your pH drop to acid level.

tot both acidic n alkaline conditions r not good for e fish...
tot it should be ok for water to be slightly acidic or alkaline
e.g 6.7-7.3ph
ammonia in acidic conditions also bcomes ammonia ions which r harmless to fishes while it is toxic in alkaline conditions... smile.gif

may i ask y did u say tat?? smile.gif
pls enlighten me on anythin i'm ignorant... smile.gif

your fish will firstly be shocked by the low ph before any amonia could harm him.
